A middle aged man has been brutally beaten to stupor by an angry mob after he stole a motorcycle in Ilorin, Kwara State on Sunday afternoon.
According to Fresh Insight Magazine, the middle aged man said to be in his late 20s allegedly stole a Chinjeng bike at the ever busy Sango Sunday market before he was caught.
An eyewitness identified as Muideen said: “I came here to buy Ram, suddenly I saw people shouting thief thief running towards my direction, I saw a man who should be in his late 20s riding away on a chinjeg machine popularly.
“He was riding ferociously towards Basin from Sango, owing to the hot chase, he lost control & fell down from the Okada.
“He was pounced on beaten mercilessly, dangerous weapons like axe, burning stick among others were used to beat him to stupor.
“He was however rescued by men of the Mobile Police force who prevented him from being lynched.”
