I will like to wish you a very Merry Christmas today. This is my favorite season of the year because of many reasons, ranging from being the end of the year, it also is the period when many people become more sensitive to the things of the Spirit, many people become more religious. I enjoy the Carol songs, the cakes, chocolates, the hampers (though I’ve not gotten a lot this year, primarily because of recession and tough economic times in the land), the Christmas cards, the lights, the harmattan, the fireworks, etc. I also love to spend time in deep reflection about the year and think hard about what I could have done better, what I didn’t do, victories that I had, successes in my ministry, the challenges of pastoring and so on. I equally spend time with scriptures to get insights into the mind of God on the season and how best to enjoy it.

It is very unusual that Christmas will fall on a Monday because like other days, it happens every 7 years or so. The Inspire today article is dedicated towards the season and I know it is the last one this year, the next time you shall be reading Inspire will be in 2018, so let me truly ignite the fire of Inspire in your hearts.

There is a Christmas scripture that got me thinking and will love us to take a look at it together, ‘and she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR THEM IN THE INN’ (Luke 2 v 7). Do you know that most of the circumstances surrounding the birth of our Lord Jesus was prophesied in the old testament, apart from this one and a few others?

His virgin birth was prophesied, the killing of babies was prophesied, the exile to Egypt was prophesied and many more but this one wasn’t. So I started to curiously check why it wasn’t and what could have happened. The Lord thereafter instructed me to simply understand that many people aren’t Giving Him Room in their lives because He comes in different forms and shapes not the expected ones.

  1. GIVE HIM ROOM INTO YOUR HEART: He was born King (Matt 2 v 2-3), hence wants to rule in your lives, so Give Him Room in your heart to be King of your life. Many people love Him but haven’t embraced Him as King of their hearts. Let Him establish His Throne in Your Heart and control your affections.

  1. GIVE HIM ROOM IN YOUR SOUL: He was born a Savior (Luke 2 v 11), and the Angels proclaimed that truth to the shepherds that kept watch by night. We should intentionally Give Him Room as Savior Of our souls by being born again.

  1. GIVE HIM ROOM IN YOUR FINANCES: I know this is perhaps controversial but the Bible says the wise men ‘opened their treasuries…’ (Matt 2 v 11) or Gave Him Access to their Finances. God didn’t ask for the money but they opened their treasuries and blessed Him of their substances.

  1. GIVE HIM ROOM IN YOUR CAREER: the shepherds left their work to spread the news of His Birth, they gave Him Room in their careers by allowing Jesus some space in their work life. The Angels came to meet them while they were at work and they immediately left to do the needful (Luke 2 v 17-18). They were the first evangelists mentioned in the Bible, they made known the things told them and what they saw as well.

This is the last Inspire Article for 2017, the next time we shall connect again shall be next year 2018 which is a few days away from now. Once again, Merry Christmas and Happy Prosperous New Year ahead.

Be inspired
