INSPIRE TODAY with Rev. Yomi Kasali

I posted a video on my Instagram handle a couple of weeks ago with the intention to address the worship of money in our society; by placing money side by side with morals and encouraging my online audience to choose morals over money. However, the responses and reactions were shocking and alarming, a particular comment drew my attention and it read; ‘Thunder Fire Morals.’ I still have not still recovered from the comments.

I recall that something like that was preached some years ago and televised on my Telecast, ‘Impact Today’ on STV, the reactions then were positive and encouraging, the people called in to appreciate the truth I preached and prayed for me. The elders and youth were energised by the message to fight the Love of Money and be morally sound in society. We are in trouble today because our Moral compass has become weaker over the years.

The Bible verse most Nigerians will disagree with today is found in Prov 22 v 1, A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold’. Our Values as a people have been corrupted by Greed and Covetousness, the moral institutions are weak and religious leaders are corrupt, our Nation is on the verge of collapse and a society implosion is imminently around the corner unless we do something fast about the subject of a Good Name.

Let me share some thoughts with you on A Good Name, you do not have to agree but kindly read through and meditate on my views, I hope you can be Inspired by the points below.

  1. IT IS A CHOICE: Solomon said a good name is a Choice not imposed on man by Force. Many people make it look like they have no choice when it comes to integrity and character but that thought is far from the truth, we always have a choice, and you should choose the good name rather than silver and gold.

  1. IT IS OUR CHARACTER: In the society we live in today, it is safe to say that cash counts not character, but great nations and societies are built by men of character, not cash. We should go back to basics and build emphasise character, not cash.

  1. IT IS BETTER THAN THE ANOINTING:  Solomon gives us another dimension on a Good Name when he said, ‘A good name is better than precious ointment…’ (Eccl. 7 v 1). This is very debatable in our society today because Nigerians attend churches where they perceive the anointing or competence more than where there is a Good Name or Character.

I hope you have been Inspired by this article and you shall pursue the right things in life. It is never too late to do what is right.
